|Since we get the grandchildren a lot during the week I decided, and have always wanted, to build a treehouse. It's anchored to a choke cherry tree and supported at the corners with sections of pine tree trunks. The frame and decking is all rough cut hemlock from Mt. Carr building products in Warren. 2x6 for the frame, 2x4 for the horizontal railing and 1x6 for the decking. The vertical railing is Alder saplings. Stairs are again pine logs with 2x4's for steps with the top cut at a angle to provide more surface for stepping. The slide was a whole $20 from a garage sale.
Plans for a second level on the other side of the stone wall might have to wait until next year. Needless to say the kids love it.
